Last night I went to the drive-in preview screening for Wolf Creek 2 and what a perfect old school way to see a scary movie in your car in the dark.
I took one of my girlfriends who hadn't seen the first WC but was excited about the drive-in and the fact that the first movie made over $60 Million dollars globally with a budget of $1.4 Million.
As the lights went down at the drive-in I braced myself for what I knew was going to be another super scary movie.....and YES I was right......to the point where I was saying out loud RUN RUN RUN!!!!! OMFG!
After recently returning from backpacking in Europe, Wolf Creek was a movie that was discussed over the dinner table often and I was excited to see what Wolf Creek 2 would deliver!
John Jarratt returns as the VERY SCARY serial killer Mick Taylor...... and does a brilliant job of ensuring you will NEVER want to go backpacking in the Australian outback EVER!
I can't believe that JJ used to be a host on my favourite Australian children's program Play School.
Wolf Creek 2's highlights were definitely the new one liners of comedy gold from JJ's character Mick Taylor and a stand out performance from Ryan Corr who delievered the perfect accent of the tortured English backpacker named Paul Hammersmith who get's caught up in one of Mick Taylor's backpacker killing adventures.
After interviewing John Jarratt for Wolf Creek back in 2005 I understand why it took so long to make the next installment......imagine his acting preparation as a serial killer.
Considering WC is based on a true story I can only imagine what the backpackers of the world who are brave enough to see this movie are left wondering..... are all Australians in the outback just like Mick Taylor?
If you haven't seen the first movie make sure you do and don't do it alone..... grab your man, woman or your bestie and get ready for another scary, shocking, weirdly funny Wolf Creek 2.
Wolf Creek 2 is in cinemas Feb 20 and is just as scary as the first movie leaving you with the thought could there be Wolf Creek 3?
